Men desexualise women because they are scared, says Shah Rukh Khan at WEF.

A day after the King of Bollywood received the 24th Annual Crystal Award for his charitable work towards women and children, he spoke on ‘women empowerment in India’ at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The ‘Chak De’ actor said people should stop peddling the term ‘equality’ for monetary gains. “Equality is not a man-made word. It is given by nature. We are just peddling the word in order to reap benefits, which must stop.”

“Women are not allowed to assert a choice. Methods might change in different parts of the world, but we have always seen women being oppressed because of their biological differences.”

The actor believes that the differences, at one point, will solidify and then they will crack. “It will take time, but this will happen”, he emphasised.
His advice to women was the sweetest. He urged the women to be themselves. He further added, “There is nothing more equal than being who you are. Men desexualise women only because they are scared.” When he was asked what he was most scared of, he joked, “I am scared of women loving me too much”.

With his charity work and government’s help, Khan wants to remove the stigma the brave acid-attack victims face. “We have to come forward and try to bring awareness. Not every woman has access to the facilities or awareness of the medical benefits,” the actor said
‘Make In India’ and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ are two government initiatives that Khan is most impressed with.
The actor also indicated that the women in his life have given him the motivation to respect their decisions. “I usually don’t spend time in the company of men. I am always surrounded by women. This is one of the reasons why I am more inclined towards women.

King Khan said that these acid-attack victims taught him “how courage can catalyse victimhood into heroism”.
Moreover, he urged the economic elite to break down barriers of discrimination against women
