Kakinada: The Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) was presented the Independence Day award for the contribution it made under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in East Godavari district and surrounding areas of Reliance Industries Plant.

Under CSR, Reliance Industries had taken up various activities such as education, health, infrastructure development, women empowerment, running a school for special children in addition to livelihood and allied activities.
In addition to this, Reliance has been undertaking various need based CSR interventions, since the commencement of the project in 2007 and has been continuing the services.
The award was presented by Minister for Rural Housing, Information K Sreenivasulu on the occasion of Independence Day on Wednesday.
T Narasimha Reddy, head of support services, Reliance Industries received the award at police parade grounds.
