The world is increasingly becoming a normal space for women who wish to spread their wings in the world of entrepreneurship.

Gone are the days when a woman’s job was to stay hidden behind the four walls of the home and take care of the kitchen. In fact, a new wave of women entrepreneurs have created a workspace inside the same kitchen, by transforming cooking into a business.

Home-cooking or home-baking businesses are on a rise lately and women are leading from the front.

Businesswomen such as Kiran Mazumdar Shaw did not reach where they are today by compromising with their ideals or dreams. With activities for women not just restricted to  household work anymore, learning about the world outside should be the top priority for everyone from a young girl to a middle-aged woman.

Taking up leadership roles, whether one’s venture is big or small should come naturally and that would happen only when you get down to creating your ideal life as it looks to you.

Stop looking at the average when you can have the best that is out there. That may require you to educate yourself, train yourself and prepare yourself in dealing with the various aspects of your business dream.

It is a tough route, but it is this route that make your dreams a reality. Like what happened with patisserie chef Trupti Pherwani, owner of ‘Indulgence Home Bakers’, a boutique home bakey based in Powai, Mumbai.

Trupti’s story

Trupti’s entrepreneurial journey began with her grandfather, Madan Lal Pherwani, owner of the legendary Mumbai eatery ‘Eats’.

She had heard stories of her grandfather’s legendary cooking skills and his rapport with his customers. It instilled in her a desire to do something similar.

What also propelled her on this path was the fact that the family could not sustain their operations at ‘Eats’ due to various reasons. Trupti wanted to do something similar and earn a name in the same field as her grandfather.

Therefore, she went about learning the right skills, getting the correct educational experience and nine years ago, she began her journey in the gourmet food segment.

Trupti’s ‘indulgence’

Before Trupti created a name for herself with IHB (Indulgence Home Bakers), she worked with some of the leading five-star establishments like Sahara Star, Orchid as well as the ‘hip-n-happening’ Moshe’s for nine years.

She has even worked aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship called ‘Anthem of The Seas’. However, a fateful turn in life brought her back home, where she launched a home-baking enterprise and thus began her journey to win the hearts and taste-buds of Powai residents.

As a home-baker-entrepreneur, Trupti creates sinful delights like sponges, cakes, breads, etc and she stands out in the crowd because she uses quality ingredients like Amul butter and Nestle Milk-Maid, instead of margarine and pre-mixes.

It is her firm belief in being true to her recipes and that has people literally eating out of her hands after ordering for her delicacies online.

The orders are also home delivered through services like Swiggy and Air Menu.

In fact, besides being active on social media through Facebook and Instagram, or WhatsApp (9004996796),Trupti and her team are also on the way to launch their own e-commerce portal.

Working with the motto of “Highest Recall Tasty Value”, Trupti’s ‘Indulgence Home Bakers’ embodies the spirit of entrepreneurial India, which is growing fast and wide.
