J&K team wins 3rd National Physically Disabled T20 C’ship

JAMMU, Oct 8: Differently abled Cricket team of Jammu & Kashmir emerged winner for the 2nd time in national event and lifted the trophy of 3rd National Physically Disabled T20 Championship which culminated today at Udaipur, Rajasthan by defeating Mumbai Disabled Cricket team by 35 runs.
The Championship was organized by Differently abled Cricket Association of India (approved body of BCCI) in association with Narayan Seva Sanasthan, an organisation dedicated to assisting and rehabilitating disabled individuals across the country from September 28 to 8 October at Udaipur, Rajasthan, wherein 24 State level disabled Cricket teams participated.

After batting first J&K disabled Cricket team scored 165 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 6 wickets with Jaffar Bhat 43 runs ( 3 fours and 2 sixes), Majid 37 runs ( 2 boundaries and 2 Sixes) and Wasim Iqbal made 25 runs. In reply Mumbai Disabled Cricket team managed to score 126 runs for the loss of all wickets thus lost the match by 35 runs. Vikrant Keni scored 46 runs while Sunil Vede made 11 runs to the total.
From the bowling side Wasim Iqbal and Majid took 2 wickets each, while Amir, Manzoor, Nokhil and Vaishno took 1 wicket each. Majid was declared as man of the match in Final whereas the skipper of J&K team was declared as Man of the Series and awarded (Scooty) for his all-around performance.

The trophy and cash prize of Rs 5 lakh was handed over to the J&K team by chief guest Kailash Agarwal, founder of Narayan Seva Sansthan in the presence of Prashant IGP Crime Udaipur, Svayam owner Rajasthan Royals, Member DCCI Ravi Chouhan and Abay Partap Singh.

Rajesh Gill Honorary President, Avinash Uttam Honorary Vice President, Sudhir Singh Chairman Selection Committee and Saleem Rehman Director J&K Disabled Cricket Association appreciated the efforts of all players and staff for the great achievement.
