140+ women cycled to boost the spirit of women empowerment.

In concern of the upliftment of women empowerment, more than 140 young women cycled from J&K’s Baramulla region all the way to the LOC bridge. 

In an event of cycle rally held by the Indian Army, more than 140 female cyclists across the state of Kashmir participated at a very great deal.

The event took place on 11th of September 2022 from the Showkat Ali Stadium in Baramulla and culminated at the Kaman Post in Uri.

The distance of this track is 65 Kilometres which makes it even more remarkable for the girls to be appreciated. The main motive of the Indian Army in organising such program was to promote women empowerment all across the Kashmir valley.

In the view of this, the General Officer Commander (GOC) of the Dagger Division, Ajay Chanpuria narrated that he got a request from the Women of Kashmir to hold a cycling rally solely for women.

This cycle rally was also successfully done last year with an active participation of women at a huge level.

After last year‘s success, a mega rally was organised by the Indian Army under the title of “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to celebrate the 75th year of Indian independence. The cycle rally consisted of numerous women from different schools and clubs in Kashmir thus making it one of the biggest movements of the valley’s history.

This event was concluded with a huge number of successful involvement and contribution.

The rally not only promoted women empowerment in Kashmir but gave a new rise to the thought of female potential. It was one of the most crucial steps taken by the Indian Army to enhance the status of females all over the Kashmir Valley. 

This cycle rally helped the women of Kashmir to know their self-worth, ability and capacity. 

It was definitely a wave of new thinking, spirit and aptitude that has been the need of the hour since a long time.
