The seventh edition of the Global Business Leadership Forum (GBLF) and Asian African Iconic Awards 2025 was held at Water’s Edge recently.
Uniting visionaries, leaders and changemakers from across Asia and Africa under the banner of innovation, impact and inclusive development, the 2025 event served as a platform to foster dialogue, celebrate achievements and inspire action toward a sustainable future aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030.
Speaking at the event, Nobel Laureate Mohan Munasinghe said human activities within last 50 years are the main cause of net warming of the Earth’s climate. Hence climate justice which is fair allocation of GHG burdens must be emphasised. The main aim of rich nations with high per capita GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions, funds and capacity should be to mitigate emissions.
“Human emissions of GHG have disturbed the climate system and continuing climate change will cause great impact on the poor; hence climate justice is needed at this critical juncture. Sustainability and the triple bottom line is the wave of the future. Resources used efficiently are a win-win starting point for green growth. Ethical values are key to long-term sustainability. We must transcend stakeholder boundaries to build the sustainability implementation triangle. Business can strengthen leadership and good governance to protect the sustainable development space,” he said.
The event comprised participants from over 25 countries, over 10 high-profile speakers, dignitaries, ambassadors and influential personalities, all united under the forum’s theme of ‘Global Vision, Local Action.’

Singh spoke of global collaboration, sustainable business leadership and a united vision for a better future and emphasised the role of passionate entrepreneurs and peace-builders, underscoring the contribution of the organising institutions to international development, entrepreneurship, peace diplomacy and recognition of excellence.
