
Meet Mala, a differently-abled tailoring teacher. She offers a course in Mandaveli.
Due to a polio attack lost the use of her two legs at the age of one. She studied in various schools upto Std.10 .
She then learnt tailoring while taking a diploma course held in Srinivasa Gandhi Nilayam in Alwarpet and later she started teaching tailoring.
Now she is a full fledged tailoring teacher ( teaching mainly to the mothers of special children ).
She takes classes in Alwarpet in a small portion located behind Srinivasa Gandhi Nilayam in Ambujammal Street.
She also teaches tailoring at her residence in Mandaveli in the evening hours.
Mala says this training is part of a six-months course for a fee of Rs 1500 per month. She says, “One can become a competent tailor with this very training.”
