Physically challenged citizens hail Dr. Masarat Iqbal Wani’s compassionate outreach and responsive attitude
In a rare display of compassion and efficiency, the Chief Medical Office (CMO) in Kupwara on tuesday distributed free medicines among physically challenged individuals, earning heartfelt praise from the beneficiaries.
The initiative, led by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Masarat Iqbal Wani, not only offered much-needed medical aid but also delivered a sense of dignity and inclusion to the attendees— something many said they rarely experience in government offices.
“We are highly grateful to Dr. Wani for this kind gesture,” said one beneficiary. “He personally interacted with us and even assured full support in our official matters going forward.”
Another beneficiary echoed the sentiment, highlighting the refreshing change in their experience with bureaucracy: “No other government office—be it the Tehsil office or Social Welfare—treats us the way Dr. Wani did today. He is a truly humble and humane officer.”
The medicine distribution was part of a broader outreach effort by the district’s health department, aimed at ensuring accessibility and care for marginalized groups.
